To All Second Life Avatars:

These fundamental documents are dedicated to the proposition that all Avatars are created equal and endowed with certain inalienable rights coexistent with their Creator. These documents are given freely to the Second Life Population to be modified and adopted in the form finally approved by them without any copyright or other reservation of rights by the author.

Hmm, Portugese law and enforcement only in first-life courts makes the system more suitable for resolving disputes (whether originating in SecondLife or not) that would otherwise be resolved in first-life courts than for resolving those disputes arising in SecondLife that presently go wholly unresolved.

Where this is innovative, however, is in demonstrating serious commitment to using virtual world space for first-life legal services. As I have written before now, for the SecondLife economy to flourish, it needs to attract far more services of the sort that people need, and know that they need, even if they have never heard of SecondLife.
