  What do you expect from Google Lively?

  • The current version will be the predominant type of "social 3D world" in a few years, since it's simple to use
  • Google has to evolve Lively a lot in order to make it a major player, and this will take years
  • Google just needs to tie Lively to Google Earth and allow SketchUp uploads to succeed
  • Lively will never be a "serious" player in virtual 3D worlds, but might very quickly become the leader in "3D chatrooms embedded in Web pages"
  • Lively will not evolve, but become like Google's Orkut: unnoticed and forgotten, but still around after years and years, aiming for the long tail
  • Lively will be added to the long gallery of failed Google projects and retired from Google's portfolio
