I am now one of those happy ppl who only come in when I see something in the blogs that I want to investigate or experience or buy..or just because. I pop in, hop around, explore some, chat a little and then log off. I did start out with an SL job but got tired of being told what to do (rephrase that..being shouted at!). Took me a long time to break free because I felt so guilty...plus I enjoyed the community....but I was just miserable.

I have stayed in the groups even though I am not active in them (...residual guilt and need to stay connected). I love your piece because you clearly articulate the tension between RL and SL commitments and the associated guilty. Also you make me think that maybe its time I made some space in my groups list!

Thank you :))

Thanks Radar - the reminder to not let SL tasks become an obligation is a good one. I find that whenever SL becomes stressful it's because I feel obligated to do stuff for others rather than enjoying my time and doing my own "stuff" (whatever that may be at the given moment).

Woooo - I loved that. OK, I confess it was me who suggested that topic but you summed up my own thoughts on the matter superbly. So - thanks!

Just sent my own contribution off too and now also tempted to post it on my own blog.

Again - great!
