Despite you saying its not about stability, I find that Imprudence is the most stable viewer for a long time :D I now have a nc in my inventory and I'm giving away the url site like a madwoman lol And I do not agree with the statment that is not for newbies: newbies are new, they adapt well lol in fact they should get Imprudence as soon as they land on SL: they will not miss something that they havent known very well. As far as I'm concerned, I will not get back to SL viewers ever! Thanks Jacek!

Interesting comment, Opensource... so LL's solution to their own problem is that we drop all calling cards and lose our friends' list to get a boost in performance?

Ouch, what a mess for a platform that is supposed to promote social networking!...

re: bandwidth consume

Status updates about Friendlist and Calling Cards contacts may explain part of the bandwidth being used when you're doing nothing. See this article by Tateru Nino about friendlist, calling cards and lag:

http://www.massively.com/2008/04/30/under-the-grid-calling-cards

Thanks for this article - I'm using this viewer and I suggest everyone to give it a try and give feedback to its developers.

1. I'm not really sure about the "Harley-Davidson of Second Life clients" metaphor .. but if Jacek Antonelli is fine with it, I am too

2. There is actually nothing interesting about the fact Imprudence Viewer has been "released a bit before Linden Lab announced a new Release Candidate": Linden Lab publish Release Candidates and Nightly Builds all the time

3. The new Release Candidate for the "official" viewer actually has been announced by Linden Lab - not on the main blog, but on Second Life Grid Status:
