Project Sansar. How do you feel about it?

Since Facebook bought Oculus VR, and Linden Lab is in closed beta with a Rift-compatible viewer for Second Life, what will this mean for us residents?

  • The hype will subside, Second Life will be completely ignored and plod along just as before (25%)
  • None of the above. The future is impossible to predict! (19%)
  • There will be a slightly increased interest in Second Life in the next few months but nothing dramatival (17%)
  • Linden Lab will join a new VR alliance lead by Facebook/Oculus and make Second Life compatible with the future "Facebook Metaverse" (11%)

What do you think about Philip Rosedale's upcoming virtual world, High Fidelity?

  • Never heard of it (49%)
  • We'll see when they announce the open beta - it's too early to say - maybe it's too techy/requires too much CPU for me (24%)
  • Philip will merge Second Life and High Fidelity, so I'm not worried (13%)

  • Interesting how the readers actually predicted the downfall of Lively, but not that it would be removed from Google’s portfolio…
